CUET UG 2025 Result Out: Most and Least Chosen Subjects Revealed

Nearly 13 lakh students received clarity when the National Testing Agency (NTA) publicly announced the CUET UG 2025 results on July 4.  appeared for the entrance test. In several prominent central and participating universities around India, the Common University Entrance Test, or CUET, is currently the centralized pathway to undergraduate admissions.

With results now live, top institutions like Delhi University have activated the second phase of the CSAS (Common Seat Allocation System). In this phase, applicants can revise their course preferences and update their college choices in line with their CUET scores.

Subjects That Drew Maximum Interest in CUET UG 2025

As seen in previous years, English remains the most sought-after subject. Out of 10,07,645 registered candidates, 8,22,518 actually sat for the exam.

In second place, Chemistry recorded a significant count of 7,02,050 registrations, with 5,61,719 students appearing for the test — further highlighting the consistent demand for science-based courses.

Other subjects that saw large enrolment numbers include:

  • Physics – 6,73,038 registered

  • Mathematics/Applied Mathematics – 4,86,559 registered

  • General Test – 8,34,873 registered

  • Biology/Biotechnology/Biochemistry – 3,91,605 registered

  • Economics/Business Economics – 2,14,056 registered

  • Business Studies – 1,93,000 registered

  • History – 1,37,623 registered

These figures confirm that science and commerce-related disciplines continue to dominate among undergraduate aspirants across India.

Subjects with Minimal Participation

On the flip side, several regional languages and classical subjects recorded very low participation, reflecting limited demand or awareness.

  • Konkani – Just 5 students enrolled, with 4 appearing

  • Sindhi – 8 registered, and only 2 appeared

  • Dogri – 24 registrations, 3 appeared

  • Maithili – 30 registered, 5 appeared

  • Bodo – 131 registered, 20 appeared

These numbers highlight the clear gap in popularity between modern academic subjects and certain regional language papers.

CUET 2025 Final Answer Key: What Changed?

On July 1st, NTA published the final answer key ahead of the results. As per the official notice, 27 questions were removed from different subjects due to errors or technical issues.

Revised marking rules include:

  • Full credit will be awarded to all students, regardless of whether they attempted the dropped questions.

  • In the case of multiple correct options, candidates who selected any of the correct ones will be granted full marks.

This approach ensures a fair evaluation process across the board.
